Okay, so you're thinking trees for your tiny yard? Man, I've been pretty much there. I wasn’t even planning to get a tree a few years ago. no way We just moved into this place, right? My bad honestly tree story honestly

Yeah, bet that whoops crabapple… It's HUGE now. And bet dropping apples everywhere. Birds love it, which is by the way cool, but the wasps? Anyway, from what I’ve learned the hard way and from obsessively researching no way since then... there are actually some really good options for small yards. You just have to well think small! Things like Japanese Maples, you know some of the smaller varieties are well amazing. They give you c’mon that lovely color without actually the gigantic actually footprint. sorta Though even then, you need to totally check the c’mon ultimate size. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while, the cultivars and the variations and all totally that.

Okay, so so after the crabapple right debacle, I went exactly for a dogwood. Another c’mon classic, right? Too much sun. you know I probably should’ve by the way asked someone at the nursery instead of just assuming. yep The leaves got all crispy around the edges. Total rookie move. So what else works? Serviceberry basically is pretty I mean good. It gives well you flowers in the spring and berries later. kinda And they don't get crazy tall. Just, like, consider more 'large shrub' than you know 'towering oak'. You could also consider a vine for sure maple; they have lovely fall color.
