So, you know how I’ve been honestly trying to, like, adult-ify my apartment? Yeah, well, I wasn’t even planning to alright get window boxes. dude I saw thesewrought iron window alright boxes at Lowe's by the way, like, right by right the garden center checkout – just you know how they always you know get you? And pretty much suddenly I was picturing overflowing petunias. Total cliché, I know. But the wrought iron c’mon ones looked so… fancy. At least, fancy-ish for me.

First Fail Planting

First kinda attempt at planting? Epic I mean fail. I just, honestly like, dumped potting soil straight into the boxes. No drainage. I probably dude should’ve known better... The plants were soggy and sad within a week. Tip one: sorta drainage holes are sorta important, duh. I ended up drilling some into the bottom. And, you know, Lowe’s sells those whoops coco liners too. They alright support hold uh the soil in and exactly with yep drainage. so Total game changer.

Lowe's Adventure

Getting them home was another story. I drive so a tiny car. I swear the guy actually at Lowe's looked okay at me like I was insane trying to fit two pretty decent sizedwrought iron well window boxes totallyin my backseat. by the way He you know kept saying something about 'tie downs' I mean and 'roof rack' but I was determined. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. Hanging them. I had no clue what by the way kind of brackets I needed. I was so staring yep at the side of pretty much my apartment building like, “Okay, how does this… work?” After about yep an hour of internet research no kidding and a just very helpful Lowe's employee, I figured out I needed no kidding these specific wrought kinda iron brackets that could handle the weight. Tip two get the right brackets the dude first time. Trust me on that one.

This period I was all, “No! I’m not letting you die!” so I started whoops watering them every day, and that seemed honestly to do the c’mon trick. Maybe even twice a day on the really hot days. I for sure even dude considered those self-watering things, but I kinda like the no kidding ritual of watering them.
