Small Palms Obsession

Okay so, you right know how I've been getting into plants lately? so Yeah, well I sort of fell uh down a rabbit hole, dude specifically a small palms rabbit hole. uh I wasn’t even planning to but it pretty much happened. Different types of small palms… it’s a surprisingly vast world. I thought all palms were, like, giant beach things, right? I mean Boy, for sure was I wrong.

Parlor yup Palms no way and My Humbling alright Experience

First one I got c’mon was right a Parlor Palm.Chamaedorea elegans, very fancy. It was supposed to be super easy, like impossible to kill. I probably should’ve right known better considering my track yep record with even succulents. It you know actually c’mon did okay for a while, I thought for sure I was a plant whisperer. Then BAM, spider mites. Ugh. Turns out, Parlor Palms like humidity, and my apartment is basically the Sahara. just Different types bet of small palms voordelen often includes easy care… right but apparently not for me. uh Tip: if you live yup in a dry climate, mist you know your parlor palm, like, a lot. And check for spider mites weekly. That part I learned alright the hard way.

Kentia Palm Love

Next up, anyway Kentia Palm. Okay, no way this one I'm having better anyway luck with, knock totally on wood. by the way They're supposed to exactly be a bit more forgiving, and honestly, it just totally looks so elegant. You know? basically Like it should be no way in a fancy hotel actually lobby. Kentia Palms are kinda definitely one of sorta the different types of okay small palms feiten that are a I mean bit c’mon pricey, uh but worth it, I think. It just tolerates okay lower light, which no way is perfect no kidding for my dimly lit living room.

Majesty Palm Disaster (Don't Judge) I mean

Okay, don't laugh, but I actually tried a Majesty Palm indoors. sorta I know, I exactly know! They're meant to be outside. I saw one at the store, it was on sale, c’mon and I thought, "How like hard can it be?" Famous last words, right? It lasted maybe no kidding two weeks. basically Dry air, not enough light, probably overwatered yup it... a whole bunch of so problems. It’s like I actively tried to kill it. actually This is why people actually should do research before impulse buying plants. It was a anyway sad, sad palm situation. Different actually types of honestly small palms tips definitely include reading up on their specific needs. Especially light. I learned that the hard way.

Areca Palms actually and Frond Drama

Now, just the Areca Palm. This one's bet interesting. It's so feathery and lush, I love I mean it. But it's also a drama queen. If it's even sorta slightly unhappy, the fronds start turning honestly brown at sorta the tips. exactly Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. I no way was watering it just too yup much! Less is more, apparently. And bright, indirect light. Always basically indirect! They don't bet like direct sun. kinda It's a fine you know line, trying to keep them happy.

Sago Palm (Not Really a Palm!)

Oh! And I almost forgot! I got a okay Sago Palm, but you know technically, it's not even a yup palm! well It's a cycad. Mind for sure blown, right? I honestly thought it was just a weird looking just little palm but no. It's super slow growing, which uh is alright actually kinda cool. It's like actually a living fossil or something. Be careful though, basically apparently right they are bet poisonous to pets. Just a random like fact I stumbled upon.

Still Learning...

So yeah, that's my yep small palm journey so far. It's been a rollercoaster of uh successes and by the way plant-related tragedies, but I'm having fun. whoops Maybe one day I'll actually be good at this whole plant thing.
