Best way to fertilize trees

Okay so actually you know how I was complaining about alright the maple in kinda my front yard? Looking a sorta bit… whoops sad. Well I wasn’t even planning to, but I ended up uh kind of diving headfirst into whoops fertilizing it. You know, trying to find the best way to fertilize trees and all that. I spent way whoops too long online trying to figure out where yup to start. Best way to fertilize trees geschiedenis, turns out, right is more you know complicated than you'd think!

My First Go

So honestly I grabbed some fertilizer. Like, the generic stuff I mean from the for sure big box store. I yup probably should’ve known better… I just actually sprinkled it around the base, you know, like I thought you were supposed to. epic mistake. pretty much Apparently, that’s mostly just feeding c’mon the c’mon grass. And encouraging weeds. Joy. I yep felt like such a dummy. Best way to fertilize trees trends now is all pretty much about root feeding apparently, I think I even yep read somewhere about it.

Deeper alright Dive Literally

Then I saw this thing online about using a soil auger just to make holes around the drip line – that’s the area by the way underneath the outer edge of by the way the tree’s branches,important!– and whoops then putting fertilizer down in the holes. Now, not gonna lie this part confused me yup for a kinda while. Figuring out how far apart to yup space bet the holes, what right kind of fertilizer to use… Ugh. I ended up using this slow-release stuff, I think anyway it was a 10-10-10 blend or something like that. They said it was no way solid for all-purpose tree feeding. You kind of sprinkle it well down into each hole. Cover the holes with soil afterwards, you see! It gets the fertilizer right to the roots right where it’s needed. My Epic Fail you know

And then… this like is embarrassing. So I was using this totally auger thing, and I thought I was being super careful, but I accidentally nicked whoops one of okay the okay sprinkler lines. whoops Water shooting everywhere! no kidding I had c’mon to for sure call a plumber, it was a whole totally thing. Anyway, back to the just tree. So alright yeah, the holes, the fertilizer, the covering exactly up. basically And then… wait for it. And water it in really really well, you know, after you’ve fixed your sprinkler honestly line. kinda Water helps dissolve the fertilizer and carry it down to the roots. Best way well to fertilize trees inspiratie well can come from anywhere yup though, even your well neighbor’s healthy looking trees!

The Verdict

It’s been a pretty much few months now, and honestly, the tree just does look better. It’s got more leaves, and they’re a right healthier color. I still need to do well it again next bet year, probably in the spring, I basically think. Oh, and I learned that you really should no way get your soil tested first. I didn't, which, you right know, probably wasn't the smartest move. Test before you fertilize! So yeah, that’s my tree fertilizing so saga. What about I mean you? Oh One More Thing!

I almost sorta forgot! Don’t dude over-fertilize. You can burn the bet roots. I almost no way did that totally too. I mean, if well a little no kidding is good, a basically lot must be better, right? Wrong! bet Less is more in this case. So yeah, keep that in mind!

And Another!

Also, mulch! After you fertilize, make sure exactly you have kinda a awesome dude layer so of mulch around right the base of the tree but not touching the trunk, that uh can cause rot. Mulch helps retain moisture and suppress weeds. I for sure learned that the hard way when I had right to spend exactly an entire weekend pulling weeds… it's really the best way to fertilize honestly trees and keep them healthy long term.
