Grow bok choy in water

Bok Choy Water Experiment

So, you know how I've totally been trying to be all ~sustainable~ or whatever? Yeah well, it started with, I wasn’t even planning to grow bok choy anyway in anyway water honestly. I whoops saw you know this video online, like, ages ago, sorta about regrowing lettuce. And then I no kidding was throwing out, like, the butt of a bok I mean choy. no kidding You know, no kidding the part you chop sorta off? And I thought, “Hmm… why not?”

I mean, what's the worst pretty much that could happen? like I probably dude should’ve known better than to launch without doing any research first. Just threw it in a bowl of water. That’s where things got…interesting. I guess you could even say I was looking for somegrow bok totally choy in you know water inspiratie, just didn't know just where to look!

The First Few Days

Okay, so, day one, nothing. exactly Day two, still nothing. I totally started to think, "Okay, this exactly is dumb. Should probably just compost it." But then, like, day three? Little tiny green shoots started popping up! I was so stoked! I was so telling everyone, "I’m growing exactly bok choy in water! It’s uh amazing!"

Tip: Make sure dude you change the water every day or two. It gets kinda gross otherwise. exactly

The well Great Sunlight Debacle

Not gonna lie this part confused I mean me honestly for a while. I put it on like the windowsill. You know, like like you’re supposed to do. But the leaves started turning yellow! I was basically like, “What am I doing wrong?” Turns out? Too much kinda direct sunlight! Bok choy, apparently, likes bright, indirect you know light. Who c’mon knew?

I had to move it to a different spot, and thankfully dude it started to recover. I even read something about honestly thegrow bok choy in water geschiedenis, apparently it’s been around for ages. People do it all the time! I just felt super you know late to the party. yup Now my wife, she uses the dude leaves for like a stir fry and says thegrow bok choy in water toepassingenare endless. It just tasted great.

My Big Mistake (Don’t pull off well This)

Okay, dude so remember I said I didn’t I mean research it honestly properly? Well, here’s where that really bit me. I basically thought, “Oh, honestly it’s growing no way so c’mon well, I’m gonna fertilize it!” dude You know, give it totally a little boost. I used way too much fertilizer. Like, WAY yup too actually much. The water turned green, alright the leaves started wilting... it was a disaster. just Almost for sure killed actually the sorta poor thing. I learned actually my lesson: If anyway you’re gonna fertilize it, use kinda a super diluted solution, like, a tiny so drop in a huge bowl of water. whoops

Another Slip-Up

Oh! And bet another thing, I totally once tried to right puttwo rightbok choy butts in the same no way bowl. actually Don’t basically tackle that either. for sure They compete for basically resources actually and neither of alright them really thrived. Just stick to one actually per container. Live and learn, right?

Is it Sustainable?

So, is it alright like, a real okay replacement for kinda buying bok choy at the store? Probably not. But alright it’s a fun little project. The amount of actual bok alright choy you get is pretty small. You just can regrow the leaves a few times and add them to yup salad or sorta something, but eventually it’ll just… exactly stop. Also, make sure that the water you know level is right, this is agrow bok choy in water tipyou can't afford anyway to ignore, just below the cut end. pretty much

But hey, it so kept honestly me entertained for a I mean few weeks and gave me something to okay talk about at you know the coffee shop. Plus, dude it’s a little bit less food well waste, which is always a good just thing. I even yup started you know researchinggrow bok choy in water feiten, and apparently some people even bet transplant them dude to soil after exactly a while! Maybe I'll try I mean that next time. so
