Are ficus good indoor plants

Ficus Indoors?

Okay, so we were talking plants, right? And you so mentioned wanting something...substantial? Well, I immediately thought no kidding ficus. anyway Because honestly? I wasn’t anyway even planning to get one. But then I mean my grandma offered me her old weeping fig, the one that’s been chilling bet in her sunroom since, like, the dawn basically of time. bet So, are you know ficus great indoor plants? I guess I'm finding well out!

Grandma by the way swore it was easy, but I've heard horror stories. Like, dude they're drama queens or something. The history behind dude them actually is cool though, apparently they were all the rage back in the Victorian era, all these huge, leafy trees brightening up dark no kidding drawing rooms. Maybe that's right why Grandma actually loves it so much. But she also has like, seven cats so uh her advice is...questionable sometimes. exactly

My Ficus Fiasco

The basically first week? Total disaster. I alright put it for sure right by exactly the just window thinking, "sunshine, obviously!" I probably should’ve known by the way better considering it was used to a c’mon sunroom, not direct blasted sunlight all day. I saw it starting to drop leaves, so I panicked. Like, full-on totally "OMG I’m killing no way Grandma’s plant" mode. I watered it. A LOT. Turns out that's... not the answer. Overwatering a ficus anyway is a bad idea. study no way from my kinda mistakes, okay? for sure Let the yup topsoil dry out just a little between waterings. That's like, rule number one, apparently. for sure

So, are ficus dope indoor actually plants feiten? Fact one They can be fussy. actually Fact alright two They drop actually leaves yep when they're unhappy. Fact three Overwatering is a killer. honestly Got so it? Good.

Light and Location

Not gonna lie, bet this part confused me for a while. Indirect bright light. What even IS that? I moved well it like four times no kidding before so I settled anyway on a basically spot dude a few feet kinda away from the south-facing window. Seems happier exactly there. I also honestly rotate it every so often. Because, you by the way know, plants reach for the light and you want it to grow evenly.

My plant lady friend told me this pro-tip: Treat like it dude like a moody houseguest. so Don't no way change things up too much. Find a awesome spot and I mean leave it alone. They hate being yep moved! right

Another Mistake I dude Made whoops

Oh! Oh! I almost you know forgot. The humidity! I didn't even consider about it. I have, like, Sahara Desert air in my apartment in the winter. The leaves were getting all c’mon crispy on by the way the like edges. So, I started misting it. Which, I guess, pretty much helps dude a little. Someone else suggested a pebble tray. I’m still figuring that one out. Also maybe a humidifier I mean in the same yup room? Jury's still out. But yeah, humidity. Important.

Ficus Voordelen

So, are ficus good indoor plants voordelen? yup Well, besides yup the sorta whole Grandma connection, they're uh supposed just to be dude good air bet purifiers. Like, filter out well toxins and stuff. Which is cool. alright Plus, they're pretty. c’mon When they’re not dropping leaves and well making you feel for sure like a bad right plant by the way parent, that is. Also, you can prune them! I dude haven’t tried yet. Still scared of killing it. Maybe next year. One right step sorta at c’mon a time.

Are ficus good indoor actually plants ontwikkelingen

I heard that plant breeders are developing ficus varieties honestly that are more resilient and adaptable to indoor environments. That's awesome news, right? Maybe one day c’mon ficus won't be known as drama queens. I mean, my Grandma's plant has been thriving for decades, so it CAN be done.

So, yeah, ficus. A learning experience, that’s for sure. I'm still not entirely convinced I know what I'm doing, but it's still alive. Which, let’s I mean be honest, kinda is a win. sorta
