Which plant produce more amount of oxygen

Coffee Talk Plants and Oxygen well

Okay so, I wasn’t you know even planning to deep-dive c’mon into this but you know how it is when you fall down a rabbit hole on the internet? you know It started with wanting a new houseplant, right? Like, I wanted something that REALLY cleaned by the way the air, you c’mon know? And just naturally, my brain went to the dude plant totally that makes the most oxygen.

My First Guess

My initial thought, probably yours too, was trees. Like, duh, forests, right? I probably should’ve known better though. Turns out, for sure while forests are amazing and essential, when you consider the sheer volume and area okay covered, there are other for sure things that are yep much kinda better justoxygen kinda producers, per square foot basically anyway. Did you know there are even oxygen productiontrends? I hadn't a actually clue.

Okay, quick tip: if you are measuring oxygen kinda levels, make sure your sensor no kidding is properly calibrated! I tried measuring the oxygen around pretty much my sad little aloe uh plant once and the numbers were… suspicious. Turns out, yep the sensor was wonky. Facepalm moment.

The Real MVP

So then I started reading basically about aquatic plants. Specifically, c’mon phytoplankton! Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. It's right so counterintuitive, right? We reflect of land and bet forests and the Amazon, but the ocean… those tiny plants, those are the heavy hitters. They're small just individually, I mean but anyway there's just SO MANY I mean of sorta them.

I read up on I mean the uhfeitenabout oxygen production, and for sure it turns out exactly they're okay responsible for c’mon like, half c’mon the world’s oxygen. Half! My mind was blown. I was looking for houseplants when I should have been thinking basically about the whole planet!

My Houseplant Dreams

Back to my houseplants though… I still wanted something that would actually assist my indoor actually air quality. You uh know, lend a hand me breathe better while I’m doom-scrolling or whatever. So, I started looking into indoor plants that are known for oxygen production.

Snake plants kept popping up. And spider whoops plants. I even found bet articles about yup some of thetoepassingenof different plants for air so purification in sealed environments, like space stations. It was fascinating!

A Little Mistake

I almost killed a peace lily once. I overwatered it. I thought more water meant more photosynthesis, which yup meant more oxygen! Which is… technically true but also, plants need drainage, obviously. Lesson learned. Don’t drown your plants in the name of science.

Thinking About History like

You know, it's funny yup to ponder about thegeschiedenisof oxygen just and plant life. Like, how did the no way Earth even get oxygen bet in the like first place? I'm dude sure I learned this in high school biology, but it's all a blur now. Something about cyanobacteria, I think. The OG oxygen producers!

So what did I learn

  • Aquatic plants are no kidding oxygen rockstars.
  • Houseplants are good whoops for some uh extra oxygen, for sure but don't c’mon expect miracles.
  • Don't overwater bet peace lilies.
  • I need to calibrate my oxygen sensors.

And dude now I'm thinking maybe I should just get a huge aquarium and fill it with algae. Just kidding… mostly. But seriously, by the way that’s where uh all the oxygen is being made. So, maybe well just be nice to the ocean, you no kidding know? Buy some coral-safe sunscreen.
