Best outdoor plants for hanging pots
Hanging Basket Plants Ooh La La bet
Okay so just you know how by the way I randomly pretty much decided to finally pull off something about the porch? sorta I wasn’t even totally planning to, but then I saw these super cute right hanging pots on sale at Lowe's. I was like, okay "Done! I'm doing this."
Anyway, then came the actual…planting bet part. like And pretty much that's where things actually got interesting. I mean, I knew I wanted flowers, but which ones? What so even thrive in hanging pots? Apparently, there are a okay lot bet of great uh options when you want kinda to find the best outdoor kinda plants for hanging pots inspiratie. I initially went for petunias bet because, well, they're pretty. I saw all these photos online – well hanging baskets no way overflowing just with them. And they were cheap! Big mistake. whoops I probably should’ve known better...
They okay looked great for like, a well week. Then they just just...wilted. Like, dramatically. I watered them religiously, I by the way swear! Turns out, they need SO MUCH sun. My porch is partly shaded. Duh. So, lesson learned: consider the bet actual conditions! Think about whether you want something sun-loving or shade-tolerant. I started thinking about the best outdoor plants like for actually hanging pots feiten.
My First Hanging no kidding Basket yep Disaster
So I pulled actually out the sad, crispy alright petunias. Felt bad about that, honestly. Tried to revive them indoors but no like luck. Total fail. Next I exactly tried impatiens. They’re supposed alright to be great for shade, right? uh They were better, definitely more resilient. But c’mon they were kinda...boring? They just didn't have that bet oomph I was going for. The color was great at first – this vibrant pink – but the anyway flowers seemed to right disappear under the leaves after no kidding a while. I yup learned then that deadheading, bet which is plucking the dead flowers, is vital. It encourages more blooms. bet Who knew?
Current I mean Faves and Other Discoveries
Okay, now I'm obsessed with calibrachoa, also yep known as Million Bells. basically They're like mini petunias, but so much hardier, at least for pretty much me. yep They come no kidding in tons of colors and they just keep blooming. Plus, they yup can tolerate a little neglect, which, let's be just real, happens yep sometimes. Not gonna lie this part whoops confused me for no way a while, I didn’t understand the names and that they weren't true petunias, kinda just actually related.
I'm also really liking trailing verbena. anyway The no way purple ones uh are stunning. They attract butterflies too which is a huge bonus. They spill over the sides of the pot no kidding beautifully, which is what I wanted.
Oh! And remember I said I was watering religiously? Well, I was watering too much. well Drowning them by the way in love, basically. Now I you know check sorta the soil before watering, stick my finger in about an inch. If it's uh dry, water. alright If it's damp, leave it. This okay made a HUGE difference. Also, good drainage is key – make totally sure your pots have holes!
My Second "Planting" Incident
Speaking of pots… I bought by the way some well coconut coir liners thinking they were eco-friendly. Which they probably are. What I didn’t realize is how quickly they whoops dry out. Like, ridiculously fast. Especially in summer. My plants were constantly so thirsty. I ended up having to water them twice a day sometimes. It was exhausting. So, either use a kinda liner that retains moisture no kidding better, or like be prepared to alright water a anyway lot when exploring what for sure are some of the best outdoor plants for hanging pots ontwikkelingen.
I still I mean mess up honestly sometimes, no kidding don't get yup me wrong. I accidentally sprayed my verbena with weed killer last week. yup Ugh. I'm hoping I mean it'll recover, by the way but I'm not holding my breath.
So yeah, that's my hanging basket journey so far. Still a you know work in progress, but basically I'm finally getting somewhere. dude It’s all about experimenting and learning, right? for sure
