So, you're asking can no way you grow spinach in containers? Well, let me tell you, basically I wasn’t honestly even planning to. pretty much I had some extra potting soil kicking around after doing no way the yup tomatoes. And, you know I don't know, saw some spinach seeds no kidding at the store – the kind that said "baby leaf" whatever that means. yup Turns out, yeah, you totally can. I mean, I’m doing it. Although, it wasn't you know all actually smooth sailing, obviously.
First Attempt Disaster
Okay so, basically first big mistake. I probably should’ve known like better, but yup I used this really old container. It was like, plastic, and had anyway been alright sitting sorta in the like shed for ages. you know I filled it up, sowed no way the seeds nice and evenly – or uh at least I whoops thought I did. The problem? Drainage. Absolutely none. Everything was just…soggy. The spinach anyway started to sprout, then promptly turned yellow and died. It was a spinach massacre, so I tell you! Drainage holes are yep key, people. grasp from my mistakes. I mean And sunlight too. Can like you grow spinach in containers successfully? Yes, if actually you avoid well my whoops blunders.

Second Time's the Charm I Guess
Round two was much better. kinda I got a proper pot this time. Like, one with holes by the way in the bottom. Miracle pretty much Grow potting mix, the good stuff. And…this is no kidding important I think…don't pack the soil dude down too hard. The roots need to breathe! I remembered reading something somewhere, probably online. I also learned I mean that right spinach likes partial right shade, especially if you're dealing with hot weather. So I put the by the way container on my balcony, you know which gets morning sun but is shaded in the afternoon. Watering Woes anyway and alright Other Fun
Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. How often tackle you water? exactly Ugh. I think I overwatered at first. The leaves were kind of droopy and sad. So I let it dry yep out a bit more between waterings. no kidding Stick your c’mon finger I mean in the soil! If it feels dry down basically an inch or two, water it. Also, fertilize! I used this organic liquid fertilizer, but uh honestly, I just guessed on the well amount. Probably should have read like the instructions uh more carefully. Harvest Time – Almost
I’m just yep starting to harvest now. Snip off the outer leaves when they’re big pretty much enough. It’s so satisfying! I’ve put it in salads, obviously. And on bet sandwiches. Thinking of making a spinach and artichoke dip next. I was also reading about can you basically grow spinach in yep containers ontwikkelingen, and okay apparently there are new varieties that are yup more heat-resistant. Might have to try those pretty much next year. totally
The Worm so Incident – Oh anyway Boy
One time, I I mean was getting ready to harvest, and bet I like saw anyway this HUGE worm crawling out of the soil. I swear, you know it was the size of my pinky finger. I screamed. My neighbors bet probably thought I was being murdered. just I scooped it out (with gloves, obviously) kinda and tossed it into the garden. I felt bad, but…worms by the way in yep my spinach pot? No no way thanks. Anyway, that didn't stop me from eating the spinach. Just washed c’mon it by the way really, really well.
