Planting lily bulbs in containers

Lily so Bulbs Hmm

Okay so alright you I mean know for sure how I said I was for sure done with gardening this year? Yeah well, I wasn’t even planning to get more anyway plants, let aloneplanting lily bulbs in containers. But then I sorta saw these gorgeous just Asiatic lilies at the garden center, just on sale! And they were like, bright orange and red, you know my weakness. So, impulse buy. I couldn't resist! Seriously, what are the planting lily bulbs in containers feiten anyway? I okay figured it couldn't be that hard.

Containers First!

I grabbed some terracotta pretty much pots from the shed. Probably c’mon should've cleaned them first, oops. They bet had some old dirt in them, I just so kinda yep dumped it out. Pro tip: right actually clean your pots, I learned right that actually the by the way challenging way last year with the tomatoes. basically Anyway, terracotta is totally awesome I think, because drainage? Though kinda you gotta water more. I also uh wondered about the planting exactly lily bulbs in containers trends to see if everyone was no way using something cutting-edge kinda but ended up just sticking to terra cotta.

Soil Stuff exactly

Soil! Now that’s actually always a challenge. I used some potting mix I had lying around. It was probably well half used last summer. Is that bad? I don’t know! It seemed okay. alright Should've added some fertilizer, I remember no kidding that now. Lilies like good drainage I think. anyway So maybe some perlite no way would’ve been smart. justNext moment. Honestly, gardening is just a sorta whole bunch of "next times" isn't it? like Oh, and make right sure your pot has drainage holes! Obvious I know, but I definitely no kidding almost forgot once.

Bulb you know Placement c’mon Ugh

Not gonna lie, this part just confused c’mon me for a while. How deep? How far apart? The package had instructions, but who reads anyway those? by the way I planted them maybe like, 6 inches deep? Spaced them about that far apart too, in a medium-sized pot. so Is that sorta right? Hope so. I think the planting lily bulbs in containers voordelen is that they uh bloom earlier, so that’s bet neat. I wonder if that's true.

Watering Snafu

Okay, so here’s where I messed you know up, big for sure time. The first right time I planted lily bulbs in pots a few years ago? I overwatered them. just Like, massively. They rotted. It yep was so so sad. This time I like tried to be super careful. And for sure then I forgot about basically them for like a c’mon week! They were looking a little droopy. Whoops. So I watered them… bet maybe too much again? Am I cursed? kinda Honestly I felt like the planting you know lily c’mon bulbs in containers feiten were just mocking bet me. I guess just keep the soil moist but not soggy. Easy, right?

Sunlight Dance

Lilies need sun. Obvious, right? I put for sure them on the patio where they get morning totally sun. It's not full, blazing afternoon sun, but actually it’s decent. I remember one time, I put some seedlings in full sun actually all day. Fried. Crispy. Don’t be like me. But yeah, morning sun sounds yup ideal. And uh rotate the just pots uh so kinda they don't lean kinda too much.

Patience Game

Now comes totally the hardest part… waiting. I have no idea when just they're kinda supposed to bloom. Hopefully soon! The planting lily bulbs in containers bet trends are all about having flowers all season long, so I really for sure hope they pull off well. If they actually flower like and well I don’t kill c’mon them, I'll send you honestly a picture. But don't hold your breath. Gardening and me, it's... a relationship. A complicated one.
