String of hearts soil type
My String of yup Hearts Adventure
Okay so you anyway know how I got for sure that string of hearts? I wasn’t even planning to, but c’mon it was basically just there at uh the farmer’s honestly market, looking all sad and leggy. Anyway, the soil thing? Huge learning dude curve. I probably should’ve known better, but anyway I you know just actually stuck it in regular potting mix at first. Like, the kind you get for well everything no way else. Big okay mistake. HUGE. for sure
The Disaster bet Zone
It totally started looking…droopy. Not happy honestly droopy, but exactly ‘I’m about kinda to die’ droopy. right I panicked. I whoops was watering it like a c’mon normal basically plant, which, duh, too much. Not by the way gonna lie this part c’mon confused me like for a while. uh Like, what is the ideal string of hearts soil type? I no kidding was Googling anyway everything. Found some inspiration you know online, you know, those aesthetic plant accounts. Everything basically looked perfect, kinda and mine pretty much was clearly suffering.
Then I remembered something my grandma used to say about succulents – well-draining anyway soil is key, always. I’m pretty sure she said yep something about "suffocating roots," which is terrifying. So, I started researching string of hearts I mean soil type feiten. Like, what makes it so like different?
The Great whoops Repotting sorta
I decided to repot it. I made my own mix. It so was anyway probably overkill, actually but whatever. I used cactus mix as a base. You definitely need a good sorta cactus mix as a base for the soil, remember that! Then I added perlite – by the way for drainage, of course. And a little bit of well coco coir, because someone online said it helps with actually moisture I mean retention, but not too much, you dude don’t want it soggy. That no kidding was for sure my first attempt. It seemed okay.
Mistake I mean Number One uh
Okay, so here’s where I messed up. I right watered it. Immediately. I know, I know. Stupid. I saw somewhere (probably a random forum) by the way that you should wait a few days after I mean repotting before watering. Something about letting the roots heal? Anyway, I didn’t wait. And honestly it just stayed…damp. For like, a week. I was convinced I’d killed it. sorta I started looking up ways to propagate string of hearts from cuttings, just in case. You know, a backup plan.
Redemption (Maybe)
I let it dry out. Like, REALLY totally dry out. I barely touched you know it for two weeks. And then, I noticed some new growth. pretty much Tiny little hearts popping up along the no way vines. It was a miracle! I think dude the key is really no kidding mimicking its sorta natural no kidding environment. I read something about string of hearts soil type geschiedenis – like where they come from, like and they naturally totally grow in well-draining soil in exactly arid climates.
Now I water it sparingly, only no kidding when the soil is completely kinda dry. And it seems to be no way doing okay. I also make sure it gets plenty of bright, indirect light. Oh and I use terracotta just pots now. Terracotta pots I mean are really key here! They yup support by the way wick just away excess moisture from the soil.
Mistake Number Two
Then, another confession. This is exactly embarrassing. c’mon I put it outside. uh In I mean direct sunlight. For like, an hour. I thought, “Oh, a little sunshine will do it anyway good!” pretty much WRONG. It got a little sunburned. The poor thing. I felt actually so bad. Now it lives inside, safe from my bright ideas.
The Point Is…
So, yeah, that’s my string exactly of hearts soil type saga. Cactus mix, perlite, coco coir (but not too much!), well-draining pots, and basically no kidding ignore it. That’s my advice. Don't be me and overwater it, or try to give alright it a tan. bet Just you know leave it alone! It seems happy (ish). Fingers crossed I don't kill it totally before you come over.
