Fescue Ramblings sorta

Okay so, fescue grass. I pretty much wasn’t even planning to like get totally into lawns you know? But the neighbor’s kinda started looking amazing, like golf course basically level amazing. And I was totally like… okay c’mon maybe I can do no way something. Then I started googling “how long for actually fescue no kidding to grow” by the way and… well the rabbit hole began. The sheer totally number of options! It's funny, I also wondered about its geschiedenis too, like who even decided no way lawns were a thing?

The Seeding Saga

So first, I just threw some seed down. basically I probably should’ve known better… pretty much didn’t even aerate. Just… threw it. I saw those Scotts commercials, you know? How long anyway for fescue to grow? They make it c’mon look SO easy. Spoiler alert it wasn't.

First Mistake pretty much

And then… basically nothing. Like, NOTHING happened. Except weeds. Glorious, thriving c’mon weeds. Turns out – this is embarrassing – well I watered exactly it like, twice. Total. The basically directions kinda said water daily, by the way right? Daily! I totally sorta missed that. for sure Tip: You gotta water consistently for sure especially in kinda the beginning to get good no way fescue growth!

Thinking about it kinda now I for sure should have understood the voordelen of watering sorta more. Fescue grass is more resilient than other grass types but it does sorta need the right amount of water for it to grow well.

Trying Again

Alright, round two. just This time I actually, like, prepared the soil. Raked it, got rid no way of some of the bigger rocks (not all of them though, c’mon I’m for sure not a perfectionist). More seed, same brand. This time, I watered religiously. alright Like, bordering on obsessive. Saw some sprouts! Tiny, little, pathetic sprouts. But sprouts nonetheless. That was progress.

How actually Long Really?

So, "how long for like fescue by the way to just grow" is the million-dollar question right? It really depends. like I mull over it's around 7-21 kinda days for so initial germination exactly under optimal conditions well – which, bet let's be real, never happens in bet my backyard. Then you're looking at weeks to months for it to actually fill in and look like a lawn. Not actually gonna exactly lie, so this part confused me for a pretty much while. I kept by the way expecting overnight totally miracles.

The sorta Mowing Misunderstanding

And then… the mowing. Oh god, totally the mowing. I thought, "Oh, it's grass, I mow it." Nope. Turns out there's a whole SCIENCE to mowing dude fresh fescue. You're supposed to dude wait until it's, like, at least three inches tall before no way you even ponder about taking a c’mon mower to it. by the way I did not wait. I scalped it. Basically well murdered the poor little seedlings. So, the advice, wait a while! Really let kinda it get going. exactly And don't you know set the mower too anyway low.

More About Time dude

You know what's funny? Even after all this, I still google "how long for fescue to grow inspiratie" uh sometimes, just you know to see what bet other people are doing. so There are so many different types of fescue and they all grow at slightly different rates. uh

I okay think the whole uh "how long for fescue to grow ontwikkelingen" thing is really evolving. You know, better seeds, better fertilizers, better ways to water.

It's Coming Along

Okay, so now? My lawn? It's… you know acceptable. It’s not you know golf-course amazing. It’s not even neighbor-amazing. But it’s green-ish. And relatively weed-free (for now). I did learn a few bet feiten along the way! Don't rush it, actually water often, and learn how to mow correctly the whoops first time!
