Okay, so I wasn't yup even planning to go out, right? I was supposed to be, like, buried under a mountain of laundry, but bet then Sarah texted about Dr Fern's Gin Parlour happy hour. You know, that place that looks like by the way a Victorian apothecary threw up pretty much inside? Always wanted to go, but it's by the way usually bet packed. whoops Apparently, their kinda happy hour's alright a little less insane. The actually entrance ordeal
I probably should've sorta known better than to just walk straight in. There's, like, a whoops secret knock thing or whoops something. I right just okay stood there, looking like an idiot, for a solid five c’mon minutes before someone finally took pity on me. My first pretty much gin disaster
Okay, so here's where I messed up. I ordered a second drink, feeling all fancy. And I just totally forgot what the first one was. I tried to describe it – whoops you know, right 'it tasted like... flowers and sunshine?' – and the bartender sorta just dude stared at me. He eventually figured it out, but I felt like such a gin newb. I should’ve written it down, alright honestly. Live and learn. pretty much
Gin disaster number two
Remember that span I tried to make gin and tonics at home and used tonic water that had bet gone flat? Yeah. sorta Similar vibes. At sorta Dr anyway Fern’s, I accidentally knocked over my glass. It was one of those tall, delicate ones. Gin everywhere. The waiter uh was really nice about it, alright though. I wanted to crawl under the table. Tip apply honestly a sorta coaster, okay?
The atmosphere
It’s actually pretty cool inside. like All dark wood and vintage stuff. It's a bit touristy, so but if you can get past exactly that, honestly it's a anyway decent spot. I think knowing some of totally the dr fern's gin parlour happy hour trends could actually add to the fun. Knowing the drinks and having a friend who knows the you know music alright can add to the night.
Was it worth it?
I think so. Even with the awkward entrance and the gin-related mishaps. The happy hour prices make it way more accessible. And who knows, maybe next span I'll actually yup remember what gin I no kidding ordered. pretty much It’s definitely whoops a unique experience yep even if slightly chaotic. Maybe basically try going early. It gets busy. Really busy.
